US MgO to Add 35 Jobs to Leland
US MgO is investing $5 million to build a 75,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Brunswick County’s Leland Innovation Park, creating at least 35 new jobs. The Brunswick County Board of Commissioners approved the sale of 22 acres for the project, which will produce magnesium oxide (MgO) cement sheathing panels used in various construction sectors. Founded in 2023, US MgO already operates R&D and warehousing facilities in the area. Company and county officials praised the project as a significant economic boost. Despite previous development challenges with the land, collaboration among local organizations made the deal possible. The facility's average hourly wage, including benefits, is estimated at $52.
