Rabid Racoon Attacks Brunswick County Resident

A Longwood resident came across a rabid racoon and was subsequently attacked. The resident is getting the necessary vaccinations and the racoon died during the incident. Read the story and how you can stay safe on WECT’s website.

Real ID Deadline Approaches

Real ID enforcement will begin on May 7th. It is a completely optional addition to your driver’s license or ID card, according to the NC DOT. However, a REAL ID can make your life easier if you frequently take a commercial flight, visit nuclear sites, military bases or other federal facilities. If you want a REAL ID, you’ll need appropriate documentation and visit your local DMV. The good news is that, unrelated to this, the NCDMV is expanding office hours starting April 7th. Brunswick Beer Xchange To Host a Charity Event for Autism Society of NC

On Saturday, April 12th, BBX will be hosting “Rock the Spectrum”. There will be raffles, 50/50 drawing, Bad Eatz and Daily Scoop food trucks, vendors from 12pm to 6pm. “Karaoke for a cause” will start at 7pm. There will also be a showcase of local musicians!

Trivia with Mike at Bridgewater Wines and Dines

You want trivia? Mike has trivia! Every Tuesday night at Bridgewater Wines and Dines for maybe you can win some gift cards! Fun starts at 6:30pm and goes until 8:30pm. It’s free but does require a reservation. Teams can be from 1 to 8 players. They are located at 1132-5 New Pointe Blvd in Leland.
