Former Principal and School Board Member Passes

Harry E. Lemon, Jr., former West Brunswick High School principal and longtime educator, has passed away. Over more than 30 years, he served Brunswick County Schools as a teacher, coach, counselor, principal, and assistant superintendent, later continuing his dedication as a Brunswick County Board of Education member. A graduate of New Hanover High School, UNC–Wilmington, and the University of South Carolina, Lemon was remembered for his steady leadership and lifelong commitment to education. (WWAY)

Brunswick Heritage Riverside Ride to Be Held Saturday

Free registration is open for the 5th annual Brunswick Heritage Riverside Ride, a 16-mile family-friendly bike ride set for this Saturday. Cyclists of all ages will ride at a casual pace from Phoenix Park in Navassa to Belville Riverwalk Park and back. Helmets are required, and walk-up registration will be available Saturday morning, though online registration closes Wednesday at noon. (WWAY)

NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher to Host Femme in STEM Event

The NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher will host its annual Femme in STEM event this Satutday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The program encourages young girls to explore science through hands-on activities with 30 participating organizations, featuring everything from microscopes to weather reporting. Organizers say the event highlights the importance of diversity in STEM fields by showing girls role models they can identify with. Tickets are available online. (WECT)

Music Tonight and Trivia Tomorrow Night at Brunswick Beer XChange

Brunswick Beer XChange, located at 113 Village Rd in Leland, hosts Trivia Night every Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., featuring weekly food trucks and prizes for both first and second place. TONIGHT at 630 pm - bring your guitar to have a jam session with Two Picky Guys or just come to listen!

Cape Fear Flipper Club - Thursday Night Flips!

Throw Coast Disc Golf in Leland hosts Thursday Night Flips, a casual weekly pinball league with the Cape Fear Flipper Club. Sign-ups start at 6:30 p.m., matches at 7 p.m., with a $2 entry fee plus $1 per game. Open to all skill levels, the event features popular titles like Guardians of the Galaxy, Godzilla, and Foo Fighters, along with drink specials from the Throw Coast Bar’s 50+ beer, cider, and seltzer options.
