Southport Seeks Designs for New License Plate
The City of Southport is launching a Southport-themed specialty license plate and is inviting artists of all skill levels to submit designs. Artwork must be 11.5" x 5.5", with key elements on the left side due to plate number placement, and a $10 application fee is required per entry. The winning design will become the official license plate, available through the NC DMV, and the selected artist will receive a cash prize. Proceeds from plate sales will benefit the city's Public Information Office. Submissions are open until June 1, 2025. Read more at the city of Southport’s website.

Last seen between 9:30pm 4/13/25 and 6:00am 4/14/25 in 200-300 block of Fairway Drive, Boiling Spring Lakes, NC. Unknown direction of travel, possibly wearing all black clothing. Wilmington Native Drafted in WNBA
Former Ashley High and NC State basketball star Saniya Rivers was selected as the #8 overall pick by the Connecticut Sun in the WNBA Draft. A standout at NC State, Rivers led the team to the Sweet 16 and earned multiple honors, including All-ACC First Team and All-Defensive Team. She previously won a national title at South Carolina before transferring and was a top high school player, finishing with 2,501 career points. Rivers was one of 12 players invited to attend the draft in person, along with teammate Aziaha James. Read more on WECT’s website.

Paint Night at Leland Brewing Company This Wednesday
This Wednesday night at 6:30pm Leland Brewing Company and Wine & Design will be having a painting class. They will be painting “Tropical Pink”. Registration is required and tickets are $39. Register here. Leland Brewing is located at 2115 Ale Avenue.
Jenga Tournament at Brunswick Beer XChange Tomorrow
Every Wednesday from April 2 to May 21, bring those steady hands and battle it out to become the official Jenga champion!
The games begin at 7pm. There will be a food truck each week so get here early to fuel up before the game!
A prize will be awarded to each week's winner with a GRAND PRIZE waiting for the player with the most points at the end of the 8 weeks.
