New Community Building for Ash-Waccamaw Area

Brunswick County and Brunswick Senior Resources, Inc. held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new 11,000-square-foot multi-use building on Waccamaw School Road NW. Located next to a school and Waccamaw Park, the facility includes a senior center, kitchen, and satellite offices for the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office and EMS. Read more at WWAY’s website.

Brunswick County Deputy Gets DWI and a Suspension

Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office deputy Ariel Nicole Wilson was suspended with pay after being arrested for driving while impaired on April 5. Her blood alcohol content was over 0.08%. Hired in October 2022, Wilson is pending an internal investigation and is scheduled to appear in court on May 20.

Leland Lowe’s Larceny Suspect Needs to Be Identified

The Leland Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects involved in a theft at a Lowe’s Home Improvement store on March 12 around 1:20 p.m. Efforts to identify them using a receipt seen in a photo were unsuccessful. Trivia Night at Gio Fund Event Center Tonight

The Gio Fund will have trivia night tonight starting at 630pm in their event center. The bar opens at 5pm. They are located at 117 Village Rd NE Unit G in Leland.
