Southport Man Killed in Head-on Collision

62-year-old Michael Staiger of Southport was killed in a head-on collision with a van driven by Richard Clemmons, a 55-year-old. Clemmons sustained serious injuries and had been charged with misdemeanor death. Read more at WECT.com.

Families of Former Inmates Being Targeted for Scams

From the BCSO Facebook page: Families of individuals recently released from jail are getting phone calls claiming there was a “judicial mistake”—that a judge forgot to order GPS monitoring. The caller says if you don’t pay up immediately, your loved one will be arrested and sent back to jail. 😡

Brunswick County to Hold a Job Fair May 9th

Brunswick County will hold a job fair on Friday, May 9th from 10am to 1pm at the Brunswick County Government Center located at 35 Courthouse Drive in Bolivia. No registration is required. To see current jobs with the county - visit the Brunswick County Website.

WHAT’S HAPPENIN’

Year-Round Vegetable Gardening Class at the LCAC Tonight at 6pm

Tonight at the Leland Cultural Arts Center: Prepare to harvest from a garden year-round by learning setup, containers, soil, timing, maintenance, pruning, harvesting, companion planting, and much more. Fee is $18 for residents and $20 for non-residents. The LCAC is located at 1212 Magnolia Village Way. Registration link is here and as of this morning - 12 openings are still open.

Three Chord Cory at Brunswick Beer XChange Tomorrow Night
