Highway Marker Application Submitted for 1960 Plane Crash

A highway maker application will be discussed at the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources' May 20th meeting. The marker application is to memorialize the 29 passengers and 5 crew members that were killed on National Airlines flight 2511 that crashed outside of Bolivia on January 9th, 1960 while en-rout from New York City to Miami Florida. Brunswick County is Looking to Build a New Animal Adoption Facility

Brunswick county is looking to build a new animal adoption center in Supply. Bids are being accepted through March 28th at 4pm. The facility will be an estimated 10,000 square feet and will be located near the Animal Protective Services building in Supply. For more information visit Brunswick County’s website.

Brunswick County “ReadyBrunswick” Prepardness Expo Tomorrow

Are you prepared for emergencies? Come by the ReadyBrunswick Preparedness Expo on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, anytime between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to meet with our team members and other local organizations to learn more about disaster preparedness and recovery in Brunswick County. It will be at the Brunswick County Government Center located at 30 Government Center Dr in Bolivia.

It is also Hurricane Preparedness Week. There is a lot of useful information at the National Weather Service’s Website.

Come to the Brunswick County Job Fair on Friday, May 9, 2025, anytime between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to meet with our team members and learn more about what job openings are available with Brunswick County Government.
