NBHS to Get Renovations Over the Summer

North Brunswick High School will undergo major renovations over the summer, including upgrades to the gym, cafeteria, and media center. Improvements feature new seating, fresh paint, and updated flooring, with the gym getting a new court mascot and school-themed colors. The changes, guided by student and faculty input, aim to create a more engaging and appealing environment. Renovations are scheduled to be completed before the fall semester begins. NBHS Student to Have Art Displayed at Nation’s Capital

North Brunswick High School student Liliana Arroyo won first place in the Congressional Art Competition for North Carolina with her charcoal drawing, which will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol for a year. Her win has inspired her to consider a future in art, and she will be invited to attend the National Awards Ceremony in Washington, D.C. See the whole story at wect.com.

Mark Your Calendar: Hurricane Expo Next Month

The Town of Leland will host its fifth annual Hurricane Expo on Saturday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Leland Cultural Arts Center. The event will offer workshops, expert advice, and safety resources to help residents prepare for hurricane season. Highlights include presentations from the National Weather Service and Town staff, a public safety Q&A roundtable, and the chance to win a rain barrel. Mark Your Calendar: 5th Annual Fishing Day in Belville

For kids 6 to 15 that know how to fish or want to know how the Town of Belville will have its 5th Annual Fishing Day at Ghe Belville Riverwalk Joseph A. Breault Fishing Pier.

It will be on Saturday, June 14th from 7am to noon and there will be three time slots available 7am - 8:30am, 8:45am - 10:15am and 10:30am to Noon. Roods, reels, bait and tackle will be provided.

Food Truck Rodeo Tonight at Leland Brewing Company

Leland Brewing Company is partnering up with Town Creek Elementary PTA to host a food truck rodeo tonight from 5pm to 9pm.

They have amazing things in store including local food trucks and family friendly activities!

Jazz Festival at Brunswick Beer and Cider Tomorrow

The inaugural Annual Jazz Festival will take place at Brunswick Beer and Cider on Saturday, May 10th, from 1 PM to 8 PM. Attendees can enjoy an outstanding lineup of prominent local artists, including Benny Hill, the Jim Ferris Trio, and many others.

In support of the community, $1 from every beer and cider sold will be donated to local music programs. The event promises a day filled with exceptional live music and vibrant energy.

Tickets are priced at $25 in advance and \$30 at the door. This marks Leland's first Jazz Festival, set in the venue’s event yard—a celebration not to be missed.

“MOM”-OSAs at The Golf Barn on Sunday

On Sunday, May 11th, The Golf Barn invites guests to celebrate with a round of putt putt or Toptracer, along with $5 mimosas available all day.

Whether bringing mom or enjoying a treat for oneself, it's a day to raise a glass to those who do it all.
