The 2025 high school football season kicks off next Friday, Aug. 22, but teams got a final tune-up at the annual Bash at the Beach Jamboree at West Brunswick High School. Seven matchups were played over Thursday and Friday, with highlights including East Bladen, Ashley, and New Hanover winning on opening night, while North Brunswick, Hoggard, Laney, and West Brunswick secured victories Friday. Several teams debut new head coaches this year, including New Hanover’s John Fuller and West Brunswick’s Steve Brooks.
