It’s Friday - Let’s Talk Food

Strawberries!! Lewis Farms will open for the season yesterday and in about two or three weeks the strawberries should be ready for picking. Lewis Farms is located in Wilmington at 6517 Gordon Road.

Britt’s Donuts will open on April 4th at 4pm. It’s located at 13 Carolina Beach Avenue in Carolina Beach.

Burn Ban is Back

A ban on outdoor burning will go into effect this morning at 8am and will go until further notice. The NC Forest Service ban does not cover fires WITHIN 100 feet of a dwelling HOWEVER Brunswick County ban does cover fires WITHIN 100 feet and goes into effect at 8am today also. Bottom line: just don’t have any open fires. Fines, fees and costs will apply.

Historic Brunswick Town Chapel Damaged

Unknown visitors to St Brown’s Church at Brunswick Town damaged brick by attempting to climb and sit on windows. The building is over 250 years old. Check out the story on wwaytv3’s website.

WHAT’S HAPPENIN’

Manna Ministries Food Distribution at Woodburn Presbyterian Church

Manna Ministries’ monthly food distribution, open to all Brunswick County residents, will be at Woodburn Presbyterian Church at 509 Village Road tomorrow from 9am to 11am.

Music and a Show

The Brunswick Beer Xchage will host DJ Rewind and “D” for Urban Line Dancing on Sunday, starting at 3pm. There will be a mix of dances, open to all levels. Feel free to bring your favorite dish as it is also a POTLUCK! Brunswick Beer Xchange is located at 113 Village Road in Leland.

Josh Starkey will be at Local’s Tavern this evening at 7pm playing a mix of Folk/Country/Americana. Local’s Tavern is located at 1107 New Pointe Blvd in Leland.
