Baby Born in Bolivia - On the Side of the Road

A pregnant woman, Margie Watkins, was initially sent home from Novant Hospital in Brunswick County, but soon needed emergency transport back. While en route, Brunswick County EMS had to deliver her baby on the side of the road. Watkins' fiancé, Austin Hartman, feared the worst due to a past traumatic birth experience. The delivery was complicated by the umbilical cord being wrapped around the baby’s neck, but quick action by paramedics ensured baby Allison was safely delivered. Watkins praised the EMS team for their support and expertise, while Hartman expressed deep gratitude for their role in bringing new life into the world. Read more on WECT’s website.
