The Burn Ban is Cancelled, For Some

The burn ban that was issue June 30th was lifted yesterday at Noon for the towns of Leland and Belville. Brunswick county still has a burn ban in place.

Swimming Advisories Lifted

Pending swim advisories for Ocean Isle Beach and Oak Island have been lifted after follow-up testing showed bacteria levels had dropped below the safe swimming standard. The advisories were initially issued due to high enterococci levels detected at public beach access sites on First and Chadbourn Streets in Ocean Isle and SE 58th Street and E. Beach Drive in Oak Island. Enterococci can cause various infections, but as of Thursday, July 31, water conditions are considered safe. (WECT)

Health and Wellness Fair Today

The 2025 Brunswick County Health and Wellness Fair is happening today at the Brunswick County Government Center (30 Government Center Drive). Stop by anytime between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for this free, family-friendly event. Highlights include food trucks, fitness lessons, free activities, health screenings, informational handouts, mammograms, an American Red Cross North Carolina blood drive, and much more.

Adopt and Shop Night Tonight

Splish Splash Dog Wash is hosting the Adopt & Shop Night Market at 2013 Olde Regent Way Ste 180 in Leland, NC, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This public event offers a fun-filled evening in support of local animal rescues, featuring meet-and-greets with rescue advocates, unique small business vendors, exclusive deals from plaza businesses, and family-friendly activities for both people and their pets. It's a great opportunity for community members to learn about fostering, volunteering, or adopting, while connecting directly with rescue organizations. A photo booth will be available, and guests are encouraged to bring their dogs and friends to enjoy the event and capture some memories.

BBX and Tater-Pop Music Live

Brunswick Beer XChange (BBX-Bottle Shoppe) and Tater-Pop Music invite the public to a lively evening of music and food at 113 Village Rd in Leland, NC. On Saturday, August 2, starting at 7:00 pm, guests can enjoy the fun and funky sounds of Tater Pop while grabbing dinner from the Taste n Seize food truck.

Jambroni at Brunswick Beer and Cider Sunday

Join Brunswick Beer and Cider on Sunday at 3:00 pm as they welcome Jambroni to the stage. Located at 1313 S Dickinson Dr in Leland, Brunswick Beer and Cider will host this dynamic solo project by guitar virtuoso and vocalist Michael Barbee. Blending genres and infusing fresh style into both classic favorites and original grooves, Jambroni uses looping techniques with drums, percussion, and guitar to create one-of-a-kind performances—no two sets are ever the same.
