Brunswick County uses the ReadyBrunswick notification system, powered by Everbridge, to improve communication during emergencies. Residents can receive alerts through landline, VoIP, mobile calls, text messages, and email, with the option to register multiple methods to ensure messages are received if one device is unavailable. Lend a Hand in Leland

Lend a Hand in Leland is a community-wide day of service that brings together individuals, families, and organizations to support local volunteer projects. The next event will be held on Saturday, October 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., offering seven volunteer opportunities in partnership with local organizations. Below are the volunteer opportunities:

• Stream Cleanup

• Trash Pickup

• Tree Planting

• Landscaping

• Homebuild (Habitat for Humanity)

• Food Distribution

• Campus Cleanup

Fall CSA Program is Back!

A weekly CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) subscription offers boxes of fresh, local products from small to mid-sized farmers, featuring seasonal items such as blueberries, peppers, squash, herbs, lettuce, and peaches. Subscribers can choose from four options: a full box (6–8 products) or half box (3–5 products) for either 10 weeks ($400/$255) or 6 weeks ($275/$155). Sign-up deadlines are September 11 for the 10-week plan and October 10 for the 6-week plan, with only 100 spots available. Deliveries run Thursdays from September 18–November 20 (10 weeks) or October 16–November 20 (6 weeks), with pick-up at multiple regional locations including Leland’s Brunswick Beer & Cider. Trivia Tomorrow Night at Brunswick Beer XChange

Brunswick Beer XChange, located at 113 Village Rd in Leland, hosts Trivia Night every Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., featuring weekly food trucks and prizes for both first and second place.

Comedy Writing Showcase at Leland Cultural Arts Center

Join the Town of Leland Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources at 1212 Magnolia Village Way on Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. for an evening of laughter and fun. Comedy Writing participants, who have spent the past six weeks creating sketches and jokes, will take the stage to share their work and keep the audience entertained.
