An Alligator Doesn’t Understand Soccer

According to a Sunset Beach Facebook Post, an alligator was found with a soccer ball lodged in its mouth at Sea Trail. Fortunately, the alligator was able to dislodge the ball on his own but the soccer ball did not survive.
Car Submerged in Water in Supply
A section of Highway 211 in Brunswick County was closed yesterday in both directions near the Lockwood Folly River Bridge after a vehicle was found submerged in water. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Follow wwaytv3.com’s story for updates
Illegal Drug Manufacturing Ruled Out in Leland Home Explosion
Investigators have ruled out narcotics manufacturing as the cause of a May 16 townhouse explosion in Leland’s Magnolia Greens neighborhood. The blast damaged at least four homes and resulted in two minor injuries. Authorities plan to bring in additional resources to determine the exact cause. Leland Fire Rescue and police have met with insurance representatives to assess the damage. Read the rest of the story at wect.com.

Nature at Home Program Tomorrow
Tomorrow from 6pm to 7:30pm at the Leland Cultural Arts Center the Town will be hosting the “Nature at Home Program”. The Nature at Home Program helps participants incorporate wildlife-friendly conservation practices into their landscaping through education and encouragement. Learn what plants, practices, and maintenance is recommended for yards in southeastern North Carolina to encourage pollinators and other wildlife. Receive printed lists from NC Cooperative Extension of recommended native plants and research-based gardening information.
Registration is not required but requested.
Trivia at Local’s Tavern
Trivia Night is tonight at 630pm at Local’s Tavern in Leland. Local’s is located at 1107 New Pointe Blvd.
