Alligator Relocated in Sunset Beach

A Sunset Beach animal control officer got the call about an alligator that hiding under a car in a garage. It was retrieved and relocated to a nearby pond without incident. See post on Sunset Beach’s Facebook Page.

Reminder: Alligators are protected by North Carolina law. Never approach or attempt to feed them. If you encounter one, keep a safe distance and contact local authorities.

Host Families Needed for Wilmington Sharks’ Players

As the Wilmington Sharks prepare for their baseball season starting May 29, they are in need of host families to house out-of-town players—about 80% of the team, according to head coach Russ Burroughs. Host families like the Collinses play a crucial role, providing not just housing but a supportive, family-like environment. They’ve hosted several players over the years, including one who made it to the MLB. Currently, the team is short about five host families, and without more support, they may have to release players. Hosting involves offering a bed, laundry access, and food, and it often leads to lasting relationships. Those interested can email [email protected] or [email protected].
